What's Holding You Back?

Do you ever dream of having a more fulfilling life? So what ‘s holding you back?
Much of what holds people back from pursuing what they want can be boiled down to fear, limiting beliefs or the unconscious mind. So in very simple terms, it is your mind that is blocking you from reaching for that gold ring! The beauty is that if you can identify the obstacle, you can eliminate it and reach your goals. That may sound simple, but when you get out of your own way, you will actually find that you have the power to pursue that goal.

I don’t know how.
What will people think?
I am just not good enough.
It’s really hard.
The last time I did it, it went nowhere.
I am not smart enough.
In fact, these are all excuses.
Excuses can be expressed in a million different ways, but what is hidden in all excuses are limiting beliefs that exist on an unconscious level and give fuel to thoughts, words, and actions in every moment of your existence. This thinking came about as a result of your life experiences and the power you gave those experiences. The positive experiences are remembered in a positive way and call forth in you a natural desire to embody and celebrate those experiences. The same is said of negative experiences that are remembered in a negative manner and invite a tendency towards fear, avoidance, and possibly other emotions as well. This negative mindset creates a major obstacle in going after what you want.
You definitely can move beyond limiting beliefs by being willing to be truly honest with yourself. If you really want something and are having a hard time achieving it, ask yourself why you don’t have it. Then listen. Make a note of the emotions and limiting beliefs that come up. Become aware of the negative voice that tells you that you “can’t”. that you are “not good enough”, and so on, and bring forward the memories and feelings you have imprinted on your mind, heart and soul. This is the first step.
Be brave and challenge yourself to take a fresh look at your past experiences and bring a more empowering meaning to those experiences. What have you learned from them? How are you wiser today? How can you apply your lessons to your future and move towards what you want from life?
